Alternative Spring Break 2019 Re-Housing Trip
Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a gateway for lifelong involvement in solving social problems and making sustainable contributions to society. The program connects students with the wider community, deepens learning, fosters positive action, empowers leaders, and contributes to a culture of innovation.
During the Re-Housing ASB trip, students will learn why people experience homelessness, what barriers individuals may face in regaining housing, and what intervention techniques are in place to address homelessness. In this trip, students will be actively engaged in the greater Baltimore area, and learn and hear from individuals with a variety of perspectives, particularly from individuals who have experienced or are currently experiencing homelessness.
Who Are We?
We are a group of 12 UMBC students, all from different backgrounds, with different majors and ideologies, all advocating that every individual should be able to live the life they want to lead - whether this means having a stable place to call home, or receiving the support and services they may desire in order to have greater agency over their life.
